Young Holt rugby side sport new kit thanks to local homes developer Lovell

Rugby stars in the making in Holt are proudly sporting a brand-new team strip after scoring a sponsorship boost from local homes developer Lovell.
The company’s backing has funded a full set of shirts for the Holt Rugby Football Club’s under-7s team. And the new-look kit is already fostering a strong sense of team spirit, according to the club’s Minis and Youth teams chairman Neville Drewry:
“Now they all have the same shirts it’s helped bring them together as a squad and made the youngsters really feel part of a team,” he says. “One of the players told us he ‘feels like a proper rugby player now!’. The club has 21 young players – boys and girls – in its under-7s squad.
Neville adds: “The support from Lovell is very much appreciated. Without the company’s backing and the help we receive from other generous sponsors, we just would not be able to run or offer the standard of rugby we do. On average it costs us about £2,500 every week of the year to run the club and cover all the costs associated with running our Mini and Youth rugby teams – who range from under-6s right up to under-18s – as well as turning out three senior sides. We are virtually entirely run by volunteers with the hugely valuable support we receive from local businesses, supporters and families supplementing the income we can generate from our bar and food sales.”
As well as sponsoring the under-7s team, Lovell – which is building the major new Heath Farm homes development only a short distance from the Rugby Club’s Bridge Road ground – is also showing its support for the club by sponsoring a pitch-side advertising board.
“It’s great to hear that the new shirts have been such a hit with the team,” says Lovell regional managing director Simon Medler. “The club plays a hugely important part in the life of the town and is a great example of the energy and community spirit which makes Holt such a desirable place to live. With an extremely impressive record of developing and nurturing young players, it’s just the kind of community organisation we want to encourage and help. We’re very pleased to have been able to help support the under-7s and wish them the best of luck for the rest of the season.”
Lovell is seeing a highly positive response to Heath Farm, an exceptional development of stunning two, three, four - and five-bedroom homes only a short walking distance from the historic town centre.
Visitors to the marketing suite and three show homes have been bowled over by the
the state-of-the-art built-in ‘silent floors’ and super-strength plasterboard which are incorporated as standard in all properties. The result of Lovell’s pioneering partnership with British Gypsum, Heath Farm is the only homes development in Norfolk to offer these advanced building materials.
All homes use Gyproc Habito, which is five times stronger than standard plasterboard and makes short work of DIY, enabling even heavy items such as televisions or mirrors to be hung without the use of power tools. Properties also benefit from Silent Floor – a system offering superior acoustic performance compared to the standard required in Building Regulations, helping eliminate noise between upstairs and downstairs. Prices start from £224,950. To find out more, visit the marketing suite at Health Farm, Holt, NR25 6JU, open seven days a week, from 10am to 5pm, call 01263 836003 or go to lovellnewhomes.co.uk
