New show apartment at The Mill, Canton is a massive hit with homeseekers!

14 July 2017

A hundred visitors and a string of sales marked a hugely successful launch weekend for the first show apartment and new marketing suite at high-profile Cardiff housing development, The Mill, Canton.

Five homes at this new urban village just ten minutes from central Cardiff were snapped up over the launch with an additional four reservations on homes not yet released for sale, as homebuyers flocked to admire the stylish interiors of the stunning two-bedroom show property.

VIPs from the partners behind the development, which is bringing 800 new homes to the former Arjo Wiggins paper mill site, also joined forces at a pre-launch event to celebrate the opening of the brand-new marketing suite. The Mill will feature 358 homes for open market sale by Lovell and 442 homes for rent which will be managed by Cadwyn Housing Association for the Tirion Group. The scheme is going ahead with the support of the Welsh Government and financial backing from the Principality Building Society, and is being developed by the Tirion Group in partnership with Lovell.

“The Mill continues to attract a remarkable response from homeseekers who love the riverside location, so close to the city centre, and are even more impressed when they see the incredible style and build quality on display in our stunning show apartment,” says Lovell regional sales director Julie Bowen.

“We had some fantastic feedback from visitors amazed by the apartment’s cutting-edge interiors. It’s a show property with incredible impact and it was great to hear so many positive comments on its construction finishing and fixtures and fittings as well as the sophisticated room layouts.” Many visitors over the launch weekend took the opportunity to speak to the Independent Financial Advisor available to provide guidance on mortgages and ways of making homebuying more affordable, including the Help to Buy – Wales Equity Loan* which enables purchasers to secure a property with as little as a five per cent deposit.

With luxury interiors by interior design specialist Blocc, the main attraction of the spacious show apartment is a superb open-plan living / dining / kitchen area which is the perfect place for socialising, entertaining and relaxing as well as offering views over the development’s tree-lined river walk and beyond, with its French doors opening on to a Juliet balcony.  The apartment also features two good-sized double bedrooms, including the master bedroom with en-suite, and the family bathroom.

Following the success of the launch, just a handful of homes are currently available at The Mill, including a small number of three-bedroom townhouses offering flexible contemporary accommodation over three storeys. They start from £270,000 (£216,000 after a Help to Buy – Wales Equity Loan) for the Oak house style while the Aspen, one of the development’s largest properties, is priced from £295,000 (£236,000 after a Help to Buy – Wales Equity Loan).

Its prime location makes The Mill the obvious choice for anyone seeking quick and easy access to Cardiff city centre but it will also suit those needing to go further. You’re only two miles from Cardiff Central railway station which provides services throughout South Wales and into England. By car, the nearby A48 gives easy access to the M4 while to the south, the A4232 takes you to Cardiff Bay. Cardiff Airport is only 12 miles to the south west.

The show apartment and marketing suite are open seven days a week, from 10am to 5pm at The Mill, Canton, Cardiff CF11 8DH. Alternatively, to find out more, please contact the Lovell sales team on 02920 606 766 or go to www.themill-canton.co.uk
